Other Available Scholarships

This page lists other scholarships available to St. Francis students.  Some are locally (St. Francis community) managed while others are managed elsewhere.  These scholarships are not managed or awarded by St. Francis High School, but are open to all seniors.

Cheyenne County Cruisers Scholarship(s)--$1500 (approx.)

This scholarship is awarded each year to graduating seniors selected by members of the Cheyenne County Cruisers car club.  The scholarship amount varies, but generally three to five scholarships are awarded each year (amounts vary but are usually $250 to $500).  Students are selected using the following criteria:  association with Cheyenne County Cruisers, pursuit of an automotive related career, and general need.  Scholarship money is awarded upon completion of a successful semester of post high school education.

 

Cheyenne County Young Miss Scholarship--Awards vary from year to year

Comments:  Junior girls of Cheyenne County compete for scholarships in the local pageant.

 

Cheyenne County Wildlife Scholarship--$600 in total awards

Comments:  This scholarship is awarded each year to two or more graduating seniors as recommended by the school scholarship selection process. The President of the Wildlife organization is contacted and the amount of award is determined. The recipients do not receive their money until after completion of their first semester in school and proof of enrollment for the second semester.

 

Leta Henderson Memorial Scholarship--$100

Comments:  The local Rebekahs Lodge review the senior graduates and notifies the school of their selection.

 

Lions Club Scholarship--$500

Comments:  The St. Francis Lions Club reviews the local scholarship applications and notifies the school of their recipients.

 

Marguerite Magley Memorial Scholarship--$900+ Award varies

Comments: The First National Bank reviews the local scholarship applications and notifies the school of their selection. Both Cheyenne County High Schools may apply.

 

Masons Essay Scholarship--$200 and $100

Comments:  The local Mason's organization reviews the senior class scholarship essays and awards a first place $200 and a second place $100 scholarship to the winners.

 

Pete Henry Scholarship--The following link will allow you to download the Pete Henry application document in Word format.  You may then type in your information in the provided areas and print out the document to be used for scholarship application.

Ricky Straub Memorial Scholarship--$100

Comments:  This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior and is determined by the family.

 

St. Francis Volunteer Firefighter's Scholarship--$500

Comments:  This scholarship is awarded each year to two or more graduating seniors. The firemen's scholarship committee reviews the local scholarship applications and determines the winners and the amount.

 

VFW Post 1528 and Its Ladies Auxiliary--$300

Comments:  The St. Francis lodge reviews the local scholarship applications and notifies the school of their recipient.
