Alumni Website Created

Easy Way to Join Free Alumni Website: Click Here!

Alumni Classmates,

The St Francis Community Foundation is sponsoring the development of a high school alumni website solely for St Francis High School Alumni and Faculty. Unlike commercial alumni websites, there will be no cost to you the user. You can choose whether you wish to participate and how much personal information you choose to share online with others. We feel this site could facilitate communication within classes and between classes for the planning of the annual alumni reunion. It will also provide another opportunity to maintain year round contact with classmates and other alumni and faculty. We hope to make available digital memorabilia such as yearbooks, photographs and other items of interest.

Please go to the website
www.stfrancisalumni.org to view the work in progress and make suggestions. The website will become interactive for interested individuals once someone from their class has volunteered to become an online class administrator for their class. This is a great opportunity for an out of town alumnus to be involved with their class. Please consider volunteering for one of these positions or suggesting a classmate fill this role.  Share this news with your classmates and other alumni. We have attached a letter in pdf form with more details.

The PDF letter mentioned above was recently sent to many St. Francis alumni in hopes of locating interested individuals to help with the website. A PDF copy of the letter can be downloaded by clicking this link. A copy of the letter is below.

St Francis High School Alumni,

The Saint Francis Community Foundation is building a new website--stfrancisalumni.org--which will allow SFCHS graduates to stay in touch with one another. We hope to have a fully completed website early next year. Please go to this website to view the format, make suggestions and volunteer as a class administrator.

SFCHS alumni will be able to read announcements and updates from their classmates, and they can also share their own news, photos, and event notices. We hope to digitally archive and make available SFCHS memorabilia such as yearbooks, photos, old CIN issues and other items of interest.

Our vision to bring this community together depends upon community leaders, both on-line and off-line. We need volunteers to provide leadership in the facilitation of this website. We ask that at least one representative from each graduating class will act as a moderator for the communication between their classmates; that representative could be you or one of your local or out of town online classmates.

The time commitment will be minimal, the technological barriers low. Essentially, a "moderator" will be responsible for approving user accounts (to ensure that users are who they say they are), modifying content posted by their classmates when necessary, deleting content that others report to be objectionable, and responding to email inquiries addressed to their class. Jason Padgett, our website developer, has constructed these features so that many of these tasks can be done easily. We also will make available training sessions for moderators at the high school in the future.

All that we request now is confirmation that you or one of your classmates will step forward as the moderator for your class. If you volunteer, help will be available online or personally for those that request it. Your classmates, the larger alumni community, and future generations of SFCHS graduates will benefit greatly from your commitment. The best we can all hope for is that this online community reflects the strong sense of community we all share in St. Francis!
